Super GT began in 1993 and has been going from strength-to-strength ever since. Now, it’s widely regarded as one of the toughest sports car series, with some of the world’s top manufacturers competing to earn glory.
Featuring bespoke high-performance cars, Super GT is a long-distance championship with each car being shared by two professional racing drivers who each drive stints during the races. The series is split into two categories - GT500 and GT300 - both taking to the track at the same time.
Sacha is racing in GT500 which is the premier category, with Nissan, Toyota and Honda all racing for success. The cars are powered by a single turbo-charged inline four-cylinder engines, which produce over 650 horsepower.
The standout mark of the competition is the level of competitiveness. Completely different vehicle types can be present in one race, so there is always the guarantee of fast-paced excitement.
Super GT frequently sees world-class drivers take to its stage, including Jenson Button, Heikki Kovalainen and Andre Lotterer. This has shown that the championship is truly diverse with drivers all over the globe choosing to compete for glory.
