Since his debut in circuit racing in 2015, Sacha Fenestraz has continued to amaze! After winning the French championship in his first season, he has just added another title to his laurels with victory in the prestigious Formula Renault Eurocup Championship. Sacha is a passionate, single-minded driver and is now classed among the surefire rising stars in motor sport proved by the fact that he has been incorporated into the Renault Sport Academy, the Renault Sport Formula One Team training programme.

Like all single-seater drivers Fenestraz discovered driving at the wheel of a kart. He was only three years old when he did his first laps on a track in the Córdoba province in Argentina. The 10 years he spent at the circuits only served to reinforce his passion as he racked up victories in Argentina, Brazil and Europe.

At the end of 2014, his career took on another dimension when he joined the Auto Sport Academy, the French Motor Sports Federation’s training centre. The French F4 Championship is a really tough, hotly-contested single-seater series in which the drivers do battle on an equal footing.

Sacha was selected for 2015, and he managed to overcome late preparation and his lack of experience by getting among the front-runners from the very first round. He scored his first victories in the streets of Pau and went on to win the French Junior Championship title.

The next logical step in his career was to move up to Formula Renault. Sacha joined the Tech 1 Racing team, which had already earned a top-class reputation for its contribution to the careers of Daniel Ricciardo, Jean-Éric Vergne and Jules Bianchi. Once again the rookie confirmed his talent on city circuits by scoring his first victory in Monaco in a curtain-raiser to the Formula 1 Grand Prix!

He finished in the top 5 at the end of his first season in the Eurocup.

In 2017, his aim was the title and he joined the reigning championship team, Josef Kaufmann Racing.

The young Franco-Argentinean combined speed and consistency and took the lead in the general classification before the summer break. Sacha dominated his rivals winning seven races including another victory in Monaco, and set new records among which the highest number of podium finishes in the same season.

During the summer he began preparing for the future. After his first test session in Formula 3 he raced in the European Championship meeting at the Nürburgring.

In his very first qualifying session Fenestraz stunned everybody by setting the fourth-fastest time!

After his title in theFormula Renault Eurocup, he brought his season to a close by taking part in the Macao F3 Grand Prix. Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher both won this legendary race at the beginning of their careers. The young champion’s Dallara-Volkswagen was a real eye-catcher as it carried the colours of the famous cartoon strip hero, Michel Vaillant! On the track, Sacha again demonstrated his capacity to adapt by finishing seventh in only his second weekend’s racing at the wheel of an F3 car.

A few days before he started his FIA Formula 3 European Championship season, Sacha Fenestraz got his first taste of Formula 1 with a maiden outing in the Renault-powered E20 F1 car as part of a Renault Sport Formula One Team demo event at Salon de Provence.

Sacha Fenestraz’s 2018 season got off to a dream start as he confirmed just how much at home he is on city circuits in the streets of Pau with pole position and victory in race 2. A stunning performance in his first race weekend with the Renault Sport Academy colors!

Sacha Fenestraz expanded his programme as the end of the season approached. He took up the GP3 Series challenge by joining the ranks of the contenders with Arden Motorsport during the Sochi and Abu Dhabi rounds.

Coming back to Macau with the iconic Vaillante livery, Sacha finished third in the 65th Macau Grand Prix after a thrilling weekend – and sometimes a few troubling similarities with the scenario in Macau, the new Michel Vaillant comic strip book! Sacha concluded his Formula 3 campaign by clinching a place in the world top 3, being the Carlin team’s highest-placed finisher.

At the end of the 2018 season, Audi Sport and its DTM customer team WRT offered Sacha Fenestraz the opportunity to gather new racing experience. After sampling F3, GP3 and F1 in 2018, Sacha Fenestraz also got behind the wheel of a V8 naturally-aspirated Audi RS 5 DTM at Jerez, Spain. Sacha covered 57 laps on the 4.428-kilometer MotoGP circuit.
